Electric brakes are connected directly to your car brake signal and increases the safety of your trailer. If the coupling unhitches, a cable disconnects and the override brakes kick in to bring the trailer to a halt. The unit uses hydraulic brake lines to control the calipers. Electric brakes are legally required to be fitted on tow loads greater than 2,500kg.
